Rear Locker

My father-in-law used an old rear locker I had acquired as template and built me a new one which we put in today.

It was an easy fit using two screws on each side at the front (top of the highest points) and we used some extra long pop-rivets at the rear to fix the locker in place. We also used a small ‘L’ bracket to give the locker a bit more support at the rear of the side portions.

We also installed some rear speakers prior to installing the locker

The plastic bits you can see in the above picture on the sides (this is where I fitted the ‘L’ brackets) are cut out of an ice cream container lid. I put these on (using staples) to block the gaps that existed with the locker in place – I didn’t want anything falling out the back.

Here is a before picture

Here is the locker fitted

The whole process wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.

We will using the locker to put board games, DVD’s and other things for the kids.
Here are the dimensions of the foot locker. I color coded them to try and make the dimensions a little clearer.

Blue = Front

Red = Base

Green = Side (380mm x 65mm)
